J.P. Hosford

Real estate runs deep in my family. My father wore many hats as a farmer, custom home builder, and real estate broker, while my mother balanced being a real estate agent and homemaker. Growing up in Northern Baltimore County, I learned the ropes alongside my father, assisting with site cleanup and landscaping for his builds.

After earning my degree from Salisbury University, I honed my appraisal skills under the guidance of William Beauchamp, a remarkable mentor. Following my certification in 2009, I continued to work alongside him until his passing in 2012.

Following this, I founded Executive Appraisal Services in Sparks, Maryland. After getting married, my wife and I chose to raise our family in rural Cecil County. Eventually, we sought a balance of community and amenities, leading us to settle in Forest Hill. Now, with three wonderful children, I specialize in appraising in areas where I have firsthand experience and deep familiarity, leveraging my background in construction and farming to offer a unique perspective in property valuation.

I have spent the past five years serving in my free time as a commissioner on the Maryland Commission of Real Estate Appraisers, Appraisal Management Companies, and Home Inspectors. Serving on the complaint review board and advocating for changes within the industry focusing on appraisal bias.
